Carroll Estates have been building homes in Bettystown for over 20 years, but still many people have not heard of this beautiful seaside town. Bettystown is located on the east coast of County Meath and is a 15-minute drive from Drogheda. Its population is growing year on year with a projected population expectancy of 13,372 residents in the greater Bettystown area by 2026, according to Meath County Council. So, why should potential new residents choose Bettystown?
Location
The real question we would ask is why shouldn’t you choose Bettystown when it has so much to offer! Bettystown is a great commuter town, easily accessible by car and has great public transport links to Dublin, Drogheda and surrounding areas. You can hop on the local bus to Drogheda which departs every 30 minutes or take a spin to nearby towns like Slane or Navan in just 30 minutes. The M1 makes Dublin City Centre a 45-minute drive from Bettystown. You can also catch the train from Laytown’s park and ride station or Matthews Coaches in Bettystown to be in the city in less than an hour. Just enough time to drink your takeaway coffee from Relish or the Bistro.
Hospitality
Bettystown has plenty to offer by way of food, drinks and accommodation if your friends or family are looking to stay close by. The town has two hotels, Neptune Beach Hotel and The Village Hotel – we recommend you try the fry! The two main bars in the town are Reddan’s and McDonagh’s with each the perfect setting for a nice pint or glass of wine on a Friday evening. Or maybe you’d prefer to pop into Bistro BTs or Relish for brunch after your Saturday morning stroll along Bettystown beach. If you prefer a quiet night in on the couch watching a movie and having a takeaway, Chans or Macaris are both available on Just Eat. Run, don’t walk to the local ‘big’ Tesco or the newly opened Lidl for all your movie snack needs.

Sports Facilities
Maybe you’re not a big foodie and sports are more your thing. Well, Bettystown has you covered. Aside from the obvious long walks along the beaches of Bettystown, Laytown or Mornington there are plenty more intensive sporting facilities in Bettystown and the surrounding area. The local GAA club, St Colmcilles, is just a few minutes from Elmeley and Roslyn and they have teams of all ages to cater for you or your family. You could try running in Cilles Athlethics Club, tennis in Laytown and Bettystown Lawn Tennis Club or football in Donacarney Celtic FC. If you prefer to watch the action, why not spend the day at Laytown Racecourse. Breathe in some fresh air while playing some golf at Laytown and Bettystown Golf Course. Or sweat it out at Integral Fitness and Leisure Centre.
Schools
The town has schools for children of all ages. Starting with the little ones at Spraoi Childcare and Hopscotch Creche & Montessori. The three Primary Schools include St. Lukes NS, Scoil Oilibhier Naofa and Tyrellstown Educate Together. For the bigger ones the local Secondary School is Colaiste na Hinse.

Big Day Out
Despite the beauty of Bettystown some days you just need to get out of town and luckily Bettystown’s surrounding areas also have loads to offer. Only a stones throw away you can find historic sites like Newgrange, Mellifont Abbey or Ardgillan Castle. Funtasia in Drogheda is the perfect family fun day out. You could walk along the nature trails and river at Sonairte National Ecological Centre or challenge yourself to 25km along The Boyne Valley Camino. See all that Meath has to offer along the Boyne Valley Drive. Or why not learn about the distillery of Slane Whiskey in Slane Castle or gin at Listoke Distillery and Gin School?
As you can see Bettystown has so much to offer. No matter your wants or needs, likes or dislikes, this beautiful town has something to offer everyone. We are so proud to be a part of building the Bettystown community and can’t wait to see what is in store next for all its residents.
